You will view the town’s mix of local and colonial architecture and see a unique attraction of the area, the ‘Leaning Tower Of Teluk Intan’. Built in 1885 as a water storage facility, this pagoda-type building features a pronounced tilt. You will visit a local boat yard where village boat-builders, working with the famous ‘chengal’ hardwood, pursue their craft, as their ancestors did for generations before them.
  • Sungkai Wildlife Conservation Centre The Seladang, Malaysia’s wild cattle and second largest mammal, share the protection of the Sungkai reserve with another endangered wildlife species, the sambar deer, together with rare birds like crested and great Argus pheasants, peacocks, peafowl and firebacks.
  • Kuala Sepetang Visit one of the world’s best sustainably managed mangrove forests and step back in time on a guided tour of a charcoal-producing complex. See the ancient carbonising process of converting mangrove timbers into charcoal using methods that have remained unchanged for more than 100 years.
